Enriching universities, the STEM workforce, and our communities by supporting neurodivergent STEM students

DYNA STEM RESEARCH

Researchers at the NAU Institute for Human Development are involved in projects focusing on students who are neurodivergent. Much of the work is at the post-secondary level with a STEM focus, but we value research at the elementary and secondary level as well, including informal learning.

WHAT WE’RE LEARNING

Through our work, we are learning more about the theories, strategies, and key elements that play a role in the success of neurodivergent students in post-secondary education.

HIGHLIGHTS AND STORIES

See the students involved in our research and their opportunities, internships, research, and successes in STEM.

Our neurodiverse students see things differently, creating a unique atmosphere that is important. Our professors appreciate the perspectives these individuals bring to the campus. I think that being open to students who are neurodivergent is part of our responsibility as an access university. It is our goal to be open, not exclusive.
